I found it at a junkyard, got it running. Its a lovely thing to work on and clean overall, except the tank, anyone got any sources for a new or used tank that doesn't leak like a sieve? I am bummed I could not come by Saturday for the The Healthy Moped Medical Clinic. So here she is in all her ginny rigged dirt bike gas tank glory.

It was a nice day and we were cleaning the garage so I took out the others and the rest of the armada.

Early birthday present from Tyler. Pretty sick. I think I am going to post the all around Boston if we make it up there next Wednesday!

-Mystery moped rider
-Pretty cool for a scooter but my moped is still faster
-Some of the group

Since I stole some essential performance parts from my Magnum for my Pinto build, I needed to make a couple of new additions to the Magnum to get it running again.

Original Parts
E50 1speed w/ original crank and oem stock 2 shoe clutch
frame
hydraulic fork
tank
seat
snowflakes

Older Mods

70cc Athena (non reed valve) w/ 70cc high comp head
ebr fork brace
CEV bullet headlight w/ 40mph speedo
enduro tailight
trimmed rear fender
painted side covers and tailbox black
cafe' bars
brake levers
clutch lever
throttle
grips

New Installments

Dellorto 16mm SHA carb
Techno BOSS pipe (made a bracket to fit clean)
(and the best upgrade of all)- a new REGISTRATION STICKER!

The ped is running excellent. I'd say the best, most reliable setup I've had on it yet. The 19mm carb and homoet 6p I took off will be a great fit for the Pinto build, and I'll post pics of that soon, as it's nearing completion. The next step for the magnum is to paint the tank, wheels, and add some custom decals. Can't wait! I've built this bike for longer distance rides and it's finally at a point I feel comfortable riding over 100 miles on it again. Haven't had a chance to use a gps yet and my speedo tops out at 40mph but my best estimates are that it top ends around 47-50mph. With a little more tuning I think I can get a little more once everything is broken in.

Maxi up grades!
-14mm bings, 14mm intakes, and boss pipes all around!
-top secret "treats feugo" technology on sam's bike plus we ditched the restricted 1hp cylinder.

Next ride I want to see you guys race. ZA50 vs E50. Also peak at the future downtown moped shed in the back groud. I can't wait for that!

Pics for clicks:

Hey what's up? I'm posting to motivate my sweet ass to make my moped healthy again...and because I wanna see something different than our group ride for once haha. Joe and I took apart the Yankee Peddler to take some measurements of a few things so I can tell BJ from Handy Bikes what I need.

The list includes: new rear axle, new nuts/washers for the axle, new rear wheel bearings, and new swing arm bushings.

I'm also hoping to buy a set of forks from John. They will lower my front end 1". I'm semi-compesating by putting a Puch 17" front wheel on, replacing the current 16" one (staggard wheel sizes = creamy)...it'll still give me a 1/2" drop 280mm rear shocks are also being put on, which will lower the rear about 3/4". Project low moped is well underway! Slammin' it...meltin' it down...

My ignition needs a little looksee too...some nasty pinging and back firing going on :/ Ah when all is said and done, I'll be doing 50+ again...

Tuesday night we had our first gathering of Providence moped people. This is something I have been dreaming of for about seven years when I got my first Puch. The meeting went really good. I think we have twelve people on our email contact list and I expect more people to find us pretty quickly.

Our first fix it is next Tuesday at Chris' garage. If you are interested in meeting up with us or just being added to the email list please email me.

I <3 Mopeds!!!

I went for a short ride to Padanaram in Dartmouth. It was pretty cold.
